May 5, 2018 – Road trip to the Temple VA campus. If you were there this past May you know it was a hoot. We cooked at an outdoor pavilion next to a large pond that was stocked for the event and the VA had a fishing tournament for the vet’s. It was well attended and a good time. We are making the first Saturday in May a standing tailgate at the Temple VA campus.

This is to confirm that we are set to have a road trip to the VA campus in Temple Texas on Saturday May 5th! We have two cooking groups committed to cook a total of 600 lunch meals: 300 brisket meals and 300 chicken fajita meals. This has become an annual event for us now on the first Saturday in May – this year that is Cinco de Mayo! If you were there last year you know it was a good time and we were set up at their big pavilion next to a large pond on the VA property.
Much more to follow but please join us if you can. At this point we really don’t know how many volunteers we will have on-site and we can use your help. If you can make the trip to Temple I guarantee we can find something for you to do. Temple is about a 3 hour scenic drive from Houston. You can leave Houston by 8:00 am and still probably be home around 5:00 for your margaritas.
